What if I need to cancel due to a positive Covid test or any other illness or injury?

We are unable to provide refunds nor are we able to exchange reservation dates due to positive Covid testing or any other illness or injury; our standard cancellation policy applies due to all cancellations regardless of reason. We strongly encourage all guests to consider adding travel insurance to their reservation if they have any concern about needing to cancel.

What time is check-out? Is late check-out available?

Check-out is 11am. Late check-out (12pm) is not available during the summer, but may be available for an additional charge in the off-season. Please contact us 24 hours prior to check-out for availability. Check-out for the Suites at Bella Vita is 12pm; late check-out is unavailable during summer months but may be available during the off-season.

Is there daily housekeeping?

Daily housekeeping is not provided; should you desire these services arrangements can be made through our front desk for an additional fee. For guests staying at Bella Vita Suites, our staff will leave fresh towels & toiletries for each day of your stay. Should you need additional items please inquire at our front desk.

Do you provide linens, supplies, and toiletries?

Each property is provided with starter paper products (toilet paper, paper towel, etc.), hand soap, and dish soap. Once these complimentary items are gone, you are responsible for purchasing additional materials. All bed and bath linens are provided. We only provide towels and linens for the amount of people stated on the reservation agreement, which is not to exceed the stated maximum occupancy of the rentals. If you are in need of personal toiletry items, travel and full size items can be purchased at Bella Vita Spa at 119 Butler Street.

How do I access the wireless internet?

Please refer to your individual property’s page for instructions to connect to the WiFi. Each property has wireless internet.

May I take bath towels to the beach?

Please do not take the bath towels to the beach. Beach towels are available for purchase at many of the local merchants in town. If evidence that our towels were taken outside or neglected and results in damage, the credit card on file will be charged a replacement fee.

Do you have quiet hours?

We request out of respect for residents and other visitors that between 10pm – 8am you keep noise in your rental and the surrounding areas to a minimum.

Can I smoke in the rental?

Smoking is not permitted in any of our rentals. It is considered as damage due to the expense we incur to remove the odor. There will be a minimum $250 charge per person for smoking inside. We reserve the right to evict all parties if evidence is found of smoking during the duration of your stay.

Can I bring my well-behaved pet?

All of our pet friendly properties are designated as such. No pets are allowed at rentals unless stated on the listing. If evidence is found of pets during the duration of your stay or after departure, there will be a minimum $250 additional cleaning charge and we reserve the right to evict all parties.

Where is the closest place to get alcoholic drinks, ice, snacks, etc?

Lake Vista Super Value (237 Center St, Douglas) offers beer, wine, liquor, bakery, deli, fresh produce and meat.

What time do most of the shops open and/or close?

In the spring & fall seasons most shops and art galleries are open 7 days a week, 11am – 5pm. During the summer season many shops & galleries have extended hours into the evening. During the winter, although some stores may close, many remain open year round, though their hours may be limited.

Maintenance Needs

Our goal is to provide a well maintained property during your stay. However, just like a home, things do break unexpectedly. Please contact us during regular business hours for non-emergency maintenance needs that may arise during your stay. Urgent situations after hours should be called in immediately to 269-857-8482 and you will be directed to our after-hours maintenance team.

Guest Room Policies for the Suites at Bella Vita

While we will make every effort to honor specific room requests; we cannot guarantee specific rooms. All of our properties are non-smoking and do not allow pets. Children under the age of 16 are NOT permitted to stay at Bella Vita Suites or Saugatuck Landings Condos, however, children of all ages are welcome at all of our other off-site vacation rentals. Thank you for your cooperation.

Deposit & Cancellation Information

A 50% deposit will be charged to your credit card for all stays. The balance will be charged to your credit card 30 days before your arrival. Cancellations for all vacation rental properties requires a 30 day notice (14 day notice required the Suites at Bella Vita). Please see each individual property cancellation information as to the required notice needed. All holiday stays & week long rentals require a 60 day cancellation notice. A $49.00 transaction charge will be applied to all cancelled reservations. No shows or less than the required notice will result in full charge.
